Is spring here? I am not really sure. Even though the sun has been shining the last few days I feel like it may just be a big old fat trick from Mother Nature. She has been known to do that before. Mean mother nature. Very mean. So even though we aren’t quite sure if we have hit spring and all of its fashion glory, we are definitely getting closer to that transition time. You know..when it isn’t quite winter, but spring hasn’t quite sprung. That is why today I am sharing 10 perfect transition pieces you need in your closet.
Chambray Shirt Who are we kidding? You guys know that I cannot even think about doing a must have list without my beloved chambray:) Layered in the winter or by itself in the spring is there really any reason I need to go on? Get one..stat.
Midi Skirt The reason this skirt gets my vote? It’s flawless with boots and sandals alike. Paired with a blazer or a graphic tee a midi skirt will get a lot of wear whether it is snowing or sunny outside.
Lightweight Plaid Button Down Let’s just face it. You just can’t go wrong with plaid. It can be layered underneath your favorite sweater or worn solo with rolled up sleeves, cropped skinnies and tennis shoes. And I might have even been known to rock mine with that midi skirt I talked about early. Plaid equals perfection.
Maxi Dress Maxi’s are perfecting for layering and they can be stunning worn alone. That is why you can wear them in any season. So are they worth the investment? I say yes. Something that can be worn all year round is a definite yes in my book!
Blazer Never underestimate the power of a well fitting blazer. It really is the perfect transition piece. Blazers can be thrown on top of almost anything. From sweaters to graphic tees to a maxi dress. This piece will get all sorts of usage as we get ready for spring.
Skinny Jeans Wear them with boots all winter and roll them up when the weather warms up. Fashion Confession: I actually wear my skinny jeans all year round. Thank you Idaho climate..thank you.
Blouse Another piece that lends well to the magic of layering(are you seeing a trend here). Worn under a sweater or by itself a blouse just makes you looked pulled together and ready for the day.
Lightweight Cardi As the weather slowly warms you can start packing away all those chunky cardigans. But a lightweight cardigan can stay out all year round. Perfect for those chillier nights and especially in this gray color. This is a piece that will take you from snowy days to those su-um-mer ni…ights(anyone else a Grease fanatic?).
Lightweight Scarf Similar to the cardi’s-say buh-bye to the chunkier scarves and say hello to the lightweight beauties! I especially love the prettier prints in pastels and florals.
Cargo Jacket I know people(you know who you are) that don’t own winter coats. They are tougher than yours truly and just know how to layer up a jacket just right. I am too wussy to do such a thing but you better believe when the temps reach 40 I am ready to rock a jacket instead of a huge winter coat!
